Who is JessyAtSea anyway?

It's high time I introduced myself. I'm Jessy, 27 years young and owner of JessyAtSea. Now you're probably wondering what exactly At Sea stands for. I was born and raised in the beautiful seaside resort of Noordwijk aan Zee (ZH), which is, of course, located by the sea. I also started my shop on the Etsy platform, and the Sea is a nice nod to selling wax seals.

How did JessyAtSea come about?

I have always been creative. From crafting at primary school to making the most beautiful surprises for Sinterklaas to studying creative media. Creativity has become a common thread in my life. So it was no surprise that in 2015 I started a part-time job at a toy shop. Here I was able to surround myself with toys all day long and, of course, wrap dozens of gifts every day. This made every working day a party!

In my spare time, I also made sure that gifts for friends and family looked immaculate. This led me to explore different ways of decorating gifts. I started making my own stickers and at the end of 2020, I started selling them on the Etsy platform. It was something I really enjoyed doing alongside my studies. 

At the beginning of 2021, I came across wax seals. A fantastic way to embellish your gifts. After I made my first seal, I was immediately sold and wanted to have everything related to it. I often came across the same wax stamps online, and they often came from abroad. Surely there had to be a better way? At the time, I was only using my Etsy shop to sell stickers, but I soon added unique wax products. I developed a starter kit that allows anyone creative to get started right away with making beautiful wax seals. Now I could introduce everyone to the wonderful world of wax sealing. Something I still enjoy doing to this day.
